How long do Pre Bonded Extensions Last

WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE DURATION OF ANY HAIR DO. HOWEVER, THE EXPECTED LASTING OF YOUR EXTENSIONS DEPENDS ON THE MAINTENANCE CARE YOU TAKE ON IT AND THE CONDITION OF YOUR HAIR. YOUR HAIR DO CAN BE GREATLY AFFECTED IF NOT CARED FOR WITH PROPER MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES. HAIR EXTENSIONS DO NOT LAST FOREVER BECAUSE THE HAIR DOES NOT HAVE OUR NATURAL OILS TO PROTECT IT.

Although Josie’s Versatile  Collection Pre- bonded hair  Extensions should last three to four months with the correct maintenance.

Is it true that gluing extensions make you loss your hair?
Extensions will behave as your own natural hair. Natural hair loss is normal and to be expected. There are approx. 100 000 hairs growing on the  average  scalp, and there is a constant daily loss of  50 – 100 scalp hairs per day. The reason that we lose these hairs is that every so often the hair follicle has a period of rest, and so the hair falls out.

A full head of extensions will cover approx. one third of your natural hair, so it is normal that approx. one third of your natural hair per day will remain trapped in the extensions. We permit for a percentage of extension loss during the course of 3/4 months. There might be some glue that are armfull to the scalp, but we don’t know, so the answers given by us is given based solely on  our own hair and services and not for someone else’s. So you must ask your hair extensionist a few questions  because our answers are not answering for theirs and might not be suitable for their products/services.

How long can i keep my extensions in for:

We do not expect extensions to last more than  3 - 4 months without regular maintenance.  Our advise is to take them out after 3 - 4 months.

Can i have extensions re-apply immediantly?

No. Give yourself a break between. Says two or three months after taking them out.

How often can i have extensions done?

We cannot tell anyone  how many times they can have extensions done...........it’s up to each individual how often they want them done.  However, in our professional and honest opinion pre-bonded extensions should not be apply too often due to the fact that even the best pre-bonded hair extensions can cause damages to the scalp and hair with constant use.

How long do braids last?

Our art of hair braiding had made Josie’s Braids the famous name hold it’s holding today!

DESPITE OUR OUTSTANDING KILLS IN HAIR BRAIDING, WE CANNOT QUARANTEE THE DURATION OF ANY HAIR DO. HOWEVER, THE EXPECTED LASTING OF YOUR BRAIDS DEPENDS ON THE MAINTENANCE CARE YOU TAKE ON IT AND THE CONDITION OF YOUR HAIR. YOUR HAIR DO CAN BE GREATLY AFFECTED IF NOT CARED FOR WITH PROPER MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES.

But with the correct hair length, texture and maintenance our braids can last for more than a year.

Is it true that braids hurt?

Yes. In order for braids, weaves and cornrows to last longer they have to be done very tight, especially those with sort hair. Braids may be quite tight for up to a week or so, until they have loosened up slightly and your own hair has grown a bit. Your head is likely to be sore and you may find it difficult to sleep and you may experience head irritations, e.g. headaches and migraines. These symptoms can be common place especially on those who have never had this hair do done before. People with irritant or fragile scalp may have their pores open up, this could lead the scalp suffer from a bacterial infection across the surface of the scalp, due to the pressure applied when by placing lots of tension on the base. We strongly recommend and advise that customers with delicate or fine hair not to have their hair braided, as it may cause hair loss. As this is not always a certainty among all, and we are unable to determine exactly how serious the hair loss will be, customers are required to sign a binding statement prior to their hair being done.

Do give yourself a chance to get used to the new tension.Wearing a new braid style is like wearing a new bra for the first time. It may feel strange at first but will become second nature once your body adjust to the change. Ease any discomfort experienced in the first twenty-four hours by running lukewarm water through your braids

How long can i keep my braids in for?

Never wear braids for more than 3-4 months because the natural hair starts to form dreadlocks, which will need to be cut out. Also leaving the braids any longer than 3-4 months will cause matting. Aside from causing the hair to smell, detangling matted clumps may cause your natural hair to tear.

How often can i have my braids done?

We cannot tell anyone  how many times they can have braids done...........it’s up to each individual how often they want them done.

Do braids make you loss your hair?

Not at all, in fact braids can help the hair grown, however, losing clumps of hair at the point where the braids were put into the hair is a definite. This can be caused by many factors such as braids kept in for too long, insufficient moisturizing of hair, poor quality hair extension and tugging on the roots of the hair when you comb the natural hair. Look in the picture of me where i am weaving and applying clip-in on my clients. That’s my natural hair and i had my hair constantly braided for nearly 20 years! But these days i like changing my image. A few of  the pictures in the gallery are of me, you might not even notice! That’s the beauty of hair extensions, you can be a different woman or girl every day! A new hair do can give a completely different image etc.

What is Weaving extensions?

Wefts are attached to your head by sewing them to a tiny braid tracks called cornrow the tracks of cornrows are done by plaiting your natural hair tight to your scalp. These cornrows are done according to the style of weaving required. Once the cornrows are plaited the wefts hair is then sewn to them.

HOW LONG DO WEAVES LAST?

WE CANNOT QUARANTEE THE DURATION OF ANY HAIR DO. HAIR EXTENSIONS DO NOT LAST FOREVER BECAUSE THE HAIR DOES NOT HAVE OUR NATURAL OILS TO PROTECT IT. AS WITH PRE_BONDED EXTENSIONS, WEAVING EXTENSIONS CAN LAST UP TO 3 – 4  MONTHS. THEY ALSO REQUIRES HIGH LEVEL OF MAINTENANCE.

How long can i keep my weaves in for:

AS WITH PRE_BONDED EXTENSIONS, WEAVING EXTENSIONS CAN LAST UP TO 3 – 4  MONTHS. THEY ALSO REQUIRES HIGH LEVEL OF MAINTENANCE. Human hair weaves and synthetic hair weaves. Both have their benefits and shortcomings. Human hair is an investment, it’s more expensive but has the ultimate ‘natural’ look and feel. It blends better with your natural hair but also behaves like natural hair, so may need reshaping after washing.

How many times can you re-do the weaves?

We do not recommend re-tightening. It is better to take the weave off completely for a proper moisturizing treatment. Weaves also collect bacteria over time and therefore it is more hygienic to wear a fresh weave.

Costs and the hair

Why do same hair do cost so much more than others?

As you probably aware, there are different types of hair available on the market. The cost is based on the quality, weight and length etc. A true 100% human hair, whether it is Indian, Brazilian, Chinese, European, Afro or any other is quite expensive for suppliers, shops and even the factories to buy.

Some hair as you heard or seen on TV are picked off the floor, and then made in pre-bonded, weaves, wigs and other hair materials. Yes, the hair will be called 100% human hair and it is, but will not behave like human hair due to bad quality and cuticles not being pointed in the same direction. These hairs are more likely to become tangled, matted, dried etc when worn. There are human hairs that are mixed with synthetic fibre to increase size/volume; this hair will also be associated with the above problems. There are also hair that are past as 100% human hair when in reality the hair is 100% synthetic fibre. Of course this hair will be cheap. But proper real hair is not cheap and cannot be comparing in prices.

Why do salons charges too much for hair extensions?

Qualified, trained and honest salons usually buy top quality hair to apply on their clients, so the reason you pay more at the salon is because the hair is of good quality.  And secondly some methods require 4 – 6 hours to complete or even longer. So while the hair extensionist is doing your hair, she/he cannot serve nor do any other client’s that day.

Be warn of some dishonest salons that uses reputable supplier’s names as their supply while buying the hair off some cheap suppliers. The truth is that hair extensions from say e.g., Great Length, Cinderella and some other good hair suppliers are not cheap to buy, therefore  the salon cannot offer customers the hair for cheap. We were trained by Cinderella hair academy in London, before we had our own hair brand Josie’s Versatile Hair Collection. Real Cinderella hair extensions are expensive to buy but the hair is good.

Caution

Stylist that has no training and inexperienced, could leave you with permanent damaged hair and scalp.  Hair extensions must be applied and removed properly by a trained extensionist otherwise damage to your natural hair/scalp may occur. Find out first if your stylist knows the proper procedures required to apply and remove hair extensions. Ask as many questions as you can think of. Ask to see their certificate if you are unsure etc. Carelessness by yourself could also cause damaged so make sure you would take care of hair extensions before having them done please.

Why it is that every time i look to buy hair extensions every supply said that their hair is 100% human hair and the best, but when i buy the hair it’s not human hair and not good at all?

Read what’s been said above regarding different hair quality. I have dealt and worked with human hair for years, nearly every hair factories/suppliers have one claim in common “we produce/supply the best hair in the hair industry” But are they really?  Josie’s makes similar claim, but a factual one. The truth is that there are very few that are telling the truth, but there are so many  ruthless suppliers and hair factories out there. And there are also a few suppliers that have hair made in the names of reputable/popular hair brand. Some of the hair you buy from some shops/online or having put in a salon are not all from or made by the real  named brand  printed on the package or you’ve been told to believe. Of course you will blame the named brand when the hair doesn’t meet your expectation. Wont you? But if the hair wasn’t made under the actual brand setting standards nor is made by their factory/s then that should not be their fault or problem. Counterfeit existed in all sort of business.

If something is too good to be true, then it is probably too good to be true!

Demand in hair
As more and more women demand for long hair increase the supply of good quality human hair becomes less, therefore this increase prices
The choices come down to quality, if you want your hair to look real and feel real then prepare yourself to pay more.
